The Cleveland Orchestra, summer tour 2016

JS The Cleveland Orchestra

We’re on vacation now: resting, Netflix bingeing, making up time with dogs and yards, catching up on house projects, and starting a new semester at CIM. Our most recent international tour finished less than a month ago with an exciting “Eroica” in Lucerne. We played a lot of Strauss, too, at Salzburg and Grafenegg (“Domestica,” “Four Last Songs,” and “Death and Transfiguration”), some Adés, including the violin concerto with Leila Josefowicz, and the Bartok “Music for Strings Percussion and Celeste”. But the highlight, for me, was a live recording of the Brahms German Requiem at the magical baroque abbey St. Florian, outside of Linz. This will continue our Brahms cycle, so stay tuned for news of its release.
